The Crew
  - ready steady

Parking   During the event volunteer parking can only be accessed from the Rosedale Road entrance to Jack Hinton Drive only.  (Tawa Drive exit off the Northern Motorway at the Greville Rd interchange - first exit north after the Upper Harbour Highway exit).  If you are on the afternoon shift please be aware that you will end up parking at the northern end and have a bit more of a walk.  Please allow sufficient time.  Also for the evening shift folk there are no street lights along the Rosedale Rd end of Jack Hinton Dr.  You may like to bring a small torch to assist when returnning to your car and don't forget warmer gear for the evenings.

If you are going to be late, or miss a shift please let your supervisor know asap.  For all Spectator Services and Volunteer Centre crew please text or phone Steve the Volunteer Manager.  Please ensure you leave your name in the message and where you work e.g. Spec Services. 021 916 776

Thanks to everyone for your diligent follow up with uniform collection, training etc.  You are a fabulous crew.  See you on the 1st.

NOTES

Please note all questions with a * must be answered

FIRST NAME:  If you are known by a different name please note e.g. Sam (Samantha)

EMAIL:  Ideally this should be a personal email address, rather than a work one. We might need to email you during the event when you are likely to be on leave

SOFTBALL COMMUNITY: It is not necessary to have knowledge of softball to join the crew.  However, there are some roles that will be more suited to those that are active in some way within the softball community.

ROLES:  Please click on Spectator Services

AVAILABILITY 1-10 MAR: These are inclusive dates of the championships.  Please read the Job Descriptions carefully.  Due to the nature of some roles we require some crew members to work all ten days of the event.  While there are other roles that request e.g. a minimum of 8 shifts.  The hours of shifts will vary depending on the role but likely to be something like:

Morning (a.m.) 8-9am – 2-3pm
Afternoon (p.m.) 2-3pm – 9pm (sometimes later)

AVAILABLE FOR LAST MINUTE SHIFTS:  Softball tournaments are like tennis championships.  The games keep going until they finish.  It is possible that on some days games may finish later than scheduled.  Are we able to call you if we need some extra help?

AVAILABILITY 25-28 FEB: We need some dedicated helpers to set up.  Building skills very welcome plus there could be some heavy lifting.  These shifts would generally be in addition to your role during the tournament.  Tell us how you think you could best help.

AVAILABILITY 11-13 MAR: Once again, extra assistance needed as per above

DRIVERS LICENCE:  Most crew members will not be required to drive, however, it is handy for us to know who is happy to, if asked.

CV UPLOAD:  We do not require a CV, however, if you have specialized experience that you feel would be helpful for us to be informed of please feel free to upload an electronic CV.  Please tell us a little about yourself in case positions crop up elsewhere.

EXTRA INFORMATION: Here is where you can note any previous volunteer experience, relevant experience, extra information regarding your availability etc.

CREW AGREEMENT:  This is important.  Please don’t tick the box without reading the agreement.

UNIFORM SIZES:  The jackets and shirts are unisex and the sizes noted are applicable for men.

Ladies… please click on one size SMALLER than you would normal buy.  E.g. if you are generally a Size 10 – click on XS, if you are normally a Size 12 – click on SMALL.  This will give you a reasonably slim fit.  For a more loose fit select your regular size.

Hints:  Measure your clothes against the sizing guidelines below.  Also the jackets don't zip up; they need to go over your head.  If in doubt select a jacket, one size larger.  Our 'model' is normally Ladies Size 10-12.  Her shirt and jacket are both Size XS and a slim fit.
